CHALLENGES
1. Showcase new Belgard pavers.
2. Compliment the owner’s new water feature.
3. Raise the patio on a recent room addition at the back of the house
so that they didn’t have to step down into the backyard.
4. Address the 100 year old oak trees in the middle of the patio space.
5. Improve the uninviting front walk.
6. Increase privacy.
SOLUTION
The patio design was created to work around the trees and special base gravel was used under the pavers. The new design also complimented the new water feature in the backyard which was placed right up against the patio for maximum enjoyment. This feature is now visible from many viewpoints in and outside of the home. The front single driveway was replaced with a horseshoe driveway to utilize the long front yard and minimize the small uninviting front walk that was previously too narrow and crowded by plant material. The additional features of the masonry columns and planters added seasonal color and match the base of the arbor that welcomes traffic to the backyard. The arbor, in addition to the dense evergreens planted at the back of the driveway, created a barrier between the front and back property for maximum privacy.

Due to an unseasonably warm March, the plants, turf, and especially the weeds got an early start. Because of this, we started mowing the first week of April, which is typically not started until the third week. The demand to keep up with the mowing caused us to get behind on spring clean-up services and weeding of beds. Please bear with us as we catch up on items that normally we do not need to address until May. We appreciate your patience during this extremely busy spring and highly unusual weather conditions. We thank you for your business.
