Meet our dedicated team of professionals
Bob Stell, Owner
Bob’s career began early, during college, and he has worked in virtually every part of the process including laborer, crew leader, foreman, designer and eventually as a registered landscape architect and business owner. He formed EverGreen Landscape Associates in 1995.
According to Bob, “Our customers are our number one asset and I expect them to be treated as such by our team.” He holds a Bachelors degree and has done extensive training through ILCA courses and seminars. EverGreen has earned several ILCA and Gold Key awards. Bob enjoys working with customers who know what they want and understand what it takes to get there. One of his favorite but most challenging projects was one that started with a design and a budget of sorts but seemed to change on a daily basis. The owner’s vision became more and more elaborate as the project progressed but in the end it was a tremendous success and a very rewarding experience. Every customer is as unique as the outcome but always serviced beyond expectations when working with EverGreen Landscape.
Mickey Bittenbender, Maintenance Manager
Mickey’s experience in the green industry spans more than 18 years as a lawn crew member, a lawn crew supervisor and now the manager of the maintenance department. He feels strongly that customers get a personal touch with EverGreen Landscape because the team works so well together. Mickey obtained an Associates Degree in parks and grounds management and as well as in plant science technology from William Rainey Harper College. He understands that customer service is key in this industry and this has become his strongest attribute.
The idea of being able to completely transform the look of a property by providing basic maintenance services such as pruning, edging beds and mulching is what Mickey enjoys most. His favorite properties have been taken away from the competition due to poor prior service. EverGreen is often hired to take over for the current service provider and he takes great pride in watching his crews completely turn things around.
Becca LaBarre, Senior Landscape Designer
Becca began working at local nurseries in high school and during college summers which gave her a great foundation and understanding of different areas of the green industry. She has an amazing knowledge of the characteristics of the plants that she utilizes in her designs and also enjoys caring for them firsthand. Becca earned a Bachelors of Science in Horticulture from the University of Illinois and began designing at EverGreen Landscape shortly thereafter. Becca has been with EverGreen since 2005 and in that time has been fortunate to work on a wide variety of projects including hardscapes and finishing touches such as water features, and lighting.
Client service is her top priority as well as her strength and she enjoys passing along her knowledge to her clients as a resource long after their landscape is complete. She considers a project a success if a client continues to spend time in their garden space many years after installation because that is a clear indication that the enhancements have met their needs and desires.
Kelly Potts, Maintenance Services
With more than six years in the green industry, Kelly’s background includes design, plant acquisitions, job costing, A/R and office administration. Currently, she is the account manager for EverGreen’s maintenance clients in the St. Charles area. Kelly explains, “Effective maintenance is truly a team effort. Without this, we could not continue to provide the quality of service our clients expect.” Kelly and the team work to create solid long term relationships.
In addition to a BS in Finance from Northern Illinois University, Kelly has been trained in the Master Gardener Program through the University of Illinois, Kane County Program. She was also a five year volunteer in this program. Kelly is currently a commissioner for the Corridor Improvement Commission with the City of St. Charles, has been on the board of the Pottowatomie Garden Club for twelve years and is on the Women Business Council committee for the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce.
Kelly describes two of her favorite projects. The first was for an elderly client whose husband had passed. We were able to discuss the history of the garden that her husband had maintained, restore it and prepare it for the next year. The second was preparing a long time client’s garden for the local garden walk. It was very rewarding for Kelly when she saw this client glowing from the praise she received during the walk.
Kathy Edgecombe, Customer Service
With more than eight years under her belt at EverGreen, Kathy’s role has grown from part-time office support staff to full time operations and marketing assistant. As the company grew, so did her responsibilities. Kathy’s previous experience includes employment as a mechanical and electrical draftsperson. She holds an Associates Degree in electronic graphic design and several certifications.
Primarily, she assists with customer service and operations in the turf/horticultural maintenance department. Specifically, Kathy generates the paperwork for EverGreen’s maintenance customers, homeowner’s associations, businesses, vendors and personnel. She also enjoys the challenge of generating advertising materials and assisting with creative projects to generate interest in EverGreen Landscape. Kathy has created direct mail campaigns, magazine advertising, a quarterly newsletter and has designed print material for events. Her favorite thing about working at EverGreen is the sense of team she feels everyday.
Vicki Dolan, Accounting
With a Bachelor of Business degree and major in accounting, Vicki handles all of the accounting functions, human resources and other administrative duties that may be required. She is the behind the scenes glue that keeps everything running smoothly. Vicki has been with EverGreen Landscape for more than five years. She explains that she actually knew very little about the landscaping industry when she first started here, but can now hold her own with botanical plant names!
She enjoys working in a smaller office with such a close-knit staff. Although her primary responsibilities are well defined along with the rest of the staff, everyone has the ability to step in at any time to complete various tasks as they arise. EverGreen’s approach to customer service is truly a personalized one because clients typically get to know everyone in the office.
